Modifications
Not all students learn the same way, for this reason I have many diffenet teaching strategies. Here are a few:)
Size: Student group size change. some assignments are with groups of 3-4, others are individual. For students that need a little more help & work better in groups or with a partner, accomodations are made.
Time: Modifications in time will be made. Assignments & assessments will be alotted more time for those that require it. I don't care how fast you learn the material, just that you learn it:)
Input: Not all students learn the same. For this reason, the curriculum is filled with different strategies to make the information being taught, understandable. In this class you wil have a lot of technology based teaching. This is to include manicans, videos, PowerPoint & others. Not only will visual aides assist in the delivery of the information, but practical skills lab will assist in combining the learned information with the aplication of the information.
-Output: Students will be assessed in many ways. Yes, we still have paper tests but the student will also be assessed on hands on skills, verbal responses, & other ways.
-Support: We are here to support your learning in any way possible. While tutoring is available whenever neccessary, peer assist groups while in the classroom are also available.
-Difficulty: While this is a rigorous course designed to excel you & at times push you to your max we also understand not everyone is at the same level. For this reason modifications in the rigor are given on a case by case basis. Whether it is giving a student a word bank on a fill in the blank exam or allowing them to use a calculator on a math portion, we will work with your student.
-Participation: I expect participation in the lesson from each student, the degree of that participation can & will be modified if needed. If a student has difficulty reading & would not benefit from participating in pop corn reading activity, the student is not required to participate.
-Goals: My ultimate goal is to teach the studnet to the best of mine & their ability the content. Not every student is at the same level & for this reason the goal of the assignment or curriculum is different for all. I will make changes to the goals according to each student. Substitutions in assignments may be required & will be handeled on a case by case basis.
